Sidney's Adventures

 Stories designed to be felt, not just read.

The Sidney’s Adventures collection has been thoughtfully created to support children who may find traditional reading experiences overwhelming or inaccessible.

Each book combines:

  • Minimal, carefully chosen wording 
  • Gentle rhythm and predictable phrasing 
  • Expressive, emotionally rich illustrations 
  • Clear visual storytelling
     

The aim is simple: to reduce pressure, support understanding, and allow children to experience stories in a way that feels safe and enjoyable.

The Series

 

🫖 Tea with a Pony

Our first published title — a gentle, joyful story centred around connection, curiosity, and a little bit of playful mischief.

🌲 Pony in the Woods

Currently at the graphics stage, this woodland adventure invites children to explore nature, imagination, and discovery.

🌿 Pony at the Garden Centre

At the proof stage, this story follows Sidney into a colourful, sensory-rich environment filled with plants, textures, and playful temptation.

🏥 Pony Visits the Hospital

Currently under construction, this upcoming title will gently explore hospital environments, helping to familiarise children with what they might see, hear, and experience.

Books That Work Alongside Experience

 Each Sidney’s Adventures book has an accompanying PonyTales – Interactive™ session, featuring carefully designed sensory activities linked directly to the story.

These may include:

Read Before - Experience Together - Read Again. . .

  The books are powerful on their own — and equally impactful when paired with a PonyTales – Interactive™ session.For nervous or anxious children, particularly autistic children who benefit from “now, next, then” predictability, reading the story beforehand can provide reassurance and familiarity. Knowing what to expect can significantly reduce anxiety and increase confidence.After attending a session, re-reading the book allows children to:

  • strengthen comprehension 
  • consolidate memory and language 
  • deepen emotional connection 
  • extend imaginative play
